Paris - the big one!

8.5 hrs of walking 25500 steps and we broke the back of our Parisian odyssey! Day 4 started with a cafe ole and pastry and on the Champs Elysee and ended on the Champs Elysee with snails and roast chicken.

After the morning coffee we walked about 3km to collect the Paris pass open bus tour tickets and then a brisk 10 min walk found us in the Louvre (grabbed an excellent Choc eclair from the Louvre, going to have to run another 5km after that) What a question, the first visit was to the Madame herself - the most famous painting on earth, the Mona Lisa and thereafter Michael Angelo and a few others followed.

We then caught the red bus to Notra Dame, Checked out Monets lilies at Musee de l'orangeie which is situated in the picturesque Tuileries gardens.
baguettes and left over pizza next to the Seine was on the menu for lunch oh and don't forget the crepe!

Then for the Pieste resistance - Sainte-Chapelle which is the finest royal chapel to be built In France and features stained glass windows and a huge rose window that are just indescribable. The glass depicts all the books of the bible and was built in the 13th century by Louis 1X - a gem of French Gothic architecture and truly one of the highlights of our trip.

Lastly we finished the red top bus tour with a trip past the Garnier Opera house, the Ritz and the spot Diana died which is market by the fire of liberty which is a replica of the Statue of Libertys flame in NY.

Wow, tired just writing all of that. Oh and Snails and chicken for supper!
