Shirl surprised me after a 2 week business trip by organizing a fantastic afternoon at the 12 Apostles (my favorite hotel in the world!). I didn't have a clue on setting off in the car and all I was told was to dress smart and bring the costume! The girls were great with keeping a secret and I was clueless!!!
What an awesome surprise. Lunch at the premier hotel in S.A. listening to a live performance by Jeremy Olivier (recently shortlisted in the S.A version of the Voice). Well we sipped wine, sat 5m from him like a couple of groupies for 3 hours and had a marvelous time. The food was quite incredible with Shirley eating her favorite - Steak and pome frittes while I had the Cape Malay thing - Chicken and prawn curry with poppadoms and sambles. We both ended with a shared Creme brule which riveled the one in France and washed down the meal with an injection of caffeine,
We really got our money's worth as the lunch stated with pre drinks at the pool restaurant and an after lunch rest at the pool with a dip to end.
Thanks Shirl, that was really thoughtful and totally memorable!
P.S. The evening ended with Hope sleeping at a friends house, an sun downer walk on Kommetjie beach, drink at Mom's and an evening request to take Talor, Zoeie and 2 boy;s to a party at Lundudno. We only dropped the kids at 10 due to the late plans, proceeded to the Waterfront for a mug and Bean coffee and a peep at the most incredible super yacht I have ever seen called Vava GeorgeTown ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2110341/Kirsty-Bertarelli-yacht-Britains-richest-woman-takes-delivery-100m-superyacht.html) worth 100M pounds!!!!! Party ended at 12 and we all headed home after a great day.
