This was my first marathon and what a great run! We started at 7AM near to the Green Point stadium to an incredible vibe. The Girls dropped me at the start and headed to the Waterfront for breakfast and it was so good to have them there at the start.
The first 21km was really good and I probably pushed it too hard, getting it done in 1H 50min and then 30Km!!!!!!! Thats when the legs stated getting really sore. The sub 4 Hr bus caught me at 35Km and I run in the bus until 38Km and then could not keep up and got spat out the back.
With Sub 4 Hr a memory I got in at 4H 4Min.
I ran with the hydration pack which was good and drank all 2L of water, 2 pronutro bars, a banana which one of the spectators so graciously let me have and a small bar one. Not enough food along the way!
