Crystal pools are in the the Steenbras river gorge which follows the Palmiet river in the Steenbras nature reserve, just past Gordans Bay. The whole family and Talor's new (3 month, 2 day, 6 hr and 3 min old boyfriend - Michael) trekked to the pools - you need a R60 permit which was well worth it - keeps numbers low!
After an hours hike we entered a clearing and then the most beautiful pool of water and waterfall appeared before us.
What followed was 3 glorious hours of picnic, sun-tanning, swimming, jumping - only barely managed to keep my eyes open to drive home and fell into a blissful sleep after a great day in the sun.
